Do I need an AniList account?

You can browse Top, Trending, Seasons, and search without signing in. To unlock personalized recommendations, the taste verdict, and list syncing, connect a free AniList account from the Me tab. AniMuse reads and updates your AniList lists — it doesn't create a separate account.

How do recommendations and the taste verdict work?

AniMuse studies the genres, tags, and studios of everything in your AniList library — your ratings, favorites, and the things you dropped — to build a taste profile. Your For You feed and every show's verdict ("you'll love it," "like it," or "not for you") are weighted to that profile, and each one shows the exact signals behind it. You can Boost, Reduce, Block, or Ignore any genre, tag, or studio from Taste Profile to steer it.

What's free, and what does AniMuse Pro add?

Browsing and full AniList list management are always free — Top, Trending, Seasons, search, swipe-to-update, plus 5 fresh For You picks a day each for anime and manga, and 10 Surprise Me picks a day — every one of those comes with its own honest taste verdict, and you get one more verdict a day on any other title you browse. Pro lifts the limits: an unlimited, always-fresh For You feed, unlimited taste verdicts on anything, sorting your library by taste verdict to pick what to watch next, AI-distilled review summaries, full taste-profile overrides, and extra customization like choosing any tint color.

How do I manage, cancel, or restore my Pro subscription?

AniMuse Pro is billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel it any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone — cancelling stops future charges and Pro stays active until the end of the period. Reinstalled or on a new device? Tap Restore Purchases on the AniMuse paywall to bring Pro back.

Why are some shows hidden, or how do I see adult content?

Adult content is hidden by default. You can turn on Show Adult Content in Settings; a nested option keeps adult titles you add marked private on your AniList lists. You can also hide individual shows from your feed, and review or restore them later from Hidden Shows in Settings.

How do episode notifications work?

On a show or season page, tap the bell to get a local reminder when the next episode airs, or when a season finishes airing. Notifications are scheduled on your device — you can adjust or turn them off in Settings → Airing Notifications, and in the iOS Settings app under AniMuse.

Does AniMuse work offline?

Mostly, yes. AniMuse caches your lists, taste profile, and a large catalog of show metadata, so it stays signed in and usable without a connection. Anything that needs live data — fresh searches or syncing a list change — will catch up once you're back online.

What happens to my data?

AniMuse has no account system and no servers of its own. Your anime and manga lists come from AniList over its official API, and your taste profile, overrides, and settings are stored locally on your device. Review summaries and verdict explanations are generated by an on-device AI model — your library isn't sent to us. To disconnect, sign out of AniList from the Me tab; to manage or delete your AniList account itself, use anilist.co.

AniMuse picked something I don't like. Can I fix it?

Absolutely — that's the point. Open Taste Profile to Boost, Reduce, Block, or Ignore any genre, tag, or studio, and your feed and verdicts update to match. Rating more titles on AniList also sharpens the recommendations over time.
